WTU Image Collection: Plants of Washington
Lichens of Washington

Collinsia parviflora
Linking to the WTU Image Collection:

Instructions are provided here for creating URL links to specific pages, taxa, and photos on the WTU Image Collection.

Because the Image Collection web site uses HTML frames, we suggest that you use the methods below to link rather than simply copying the URL displayed by your web browser.

Links should be created using the main Image Collection URL followed by key-value arguments for the desired page, taxon, or image. Within the URL, each key-value argument is separated by an '&', while the entire string of key-value pairs is separated from the html page name by a '?'. Letter case for key names must match the letter case given below; letter case does not matter for the values themselves. Key-value arguments are shown on this page in italic font, using brackets - [] - as placeholders for the actual value following the key name.

Linking to a taxon page:

Links to individual plant or lichen taxa (species, subspecies, hybrids, etc) can be created with any combination of the following key-value pairs:

Example URLs:

Note: Synonyms are handled automatically by the web site. If the name you specify in the key-value pairs is a synonym, then the link will redirect you to the page for the correct taxon name provided our synonymy dataset contains the name you specified.

Linking to a list of taxa for a family or genus:

Links to itaxa lists for a specific family or genus can be created with the Family or Genus key-value pairs:

Example URLs:

Note: Synonyms are handled automatically by the web site. If the name you specify in the key-value pairs is a synonym, then the link will redirect you to the page for the correct taxon name provided our synonymy dataset contains the name you specified.

Linking to a Photograph:

Links to to photographs can be created with a key-value pair referring to the photo's Image Number. Image numbers can be found either on the image info page (accessible from the main taxon page that contains the image), or by looking for the number within the image file name itself.

Example URL:

Linking to a resource page:

Links to resource pages (eg: the identification keys) can be created with a Page=[page name] key-value pair. Be sure to give the full page name, including the ending (.php. or .htm):

Example URLs:

Note: Pages that appear in the navpane (the frame on the left side of the window with species lists) cannot be linked to using the Page key-value.
