Hieracium triste (slender hawkweed) Slender perennials 3-35 cm. tall, the stem leafless and covered with fine, stellate hairs, and with milky juice. Distribution: Occurring throughout the mountainous areas in Washington; Alaska south to California, east the Rocky Mountains of Canada and the U.S. Habitat: Meadows and other open places in the mountains, usually at high elevations. |
