Myrica gale (sweetgale) Deciduous, dioecious shrubs 0.5-1.5 m. tall, the new growth finely pubescent, becoming glabrous with age. Distribution: West of the Cascades in Washington; Alaska south to Oregon, east across northern Canada, upper Midwest, and northeastern U.S. Habitat: Coastal bogs, swamps, lakes and streams. |
