Lloydia serotina (common alplily) (= Lloydia serotina in Flora of the Pacific Northwest) Herbaceous perennial from short, thick rhizomes, the erect flowering stems 5-15 cm. tall; several brownish, withered bracts persist over-winter at the base of the stem. Distribution: In the Olympic and Cascade mountains of Washington; Alaska south to Oregon, east to Montana and Alberta, and south in the Rockies to New Mexico. Habitat: Gravelly ridges, cliffs and rock crevices at high elevations. |
