Obtaining a password and setting up an account:

Password access is required to make any online contributions to the Image Collection website. A password is not needed to submit photos; however, we suggest you still obtain a password so you can provide a biography and specify the copyright restrictions on your photos, and optionally edit your photo metadata online.

Go to your account page (password required).

Passwords can be obtained by sending an email to the Collections Manager (dgiblin@u.washington.edu) specifying your interest in contributing to the Image Collection website web site. In your email, please inform us of how you plan to contribute, and any areas of expertise you have.

Following the receipt of your email, we will initialized your account and send a reply by email within 1-3 days. This email will contain a temporary user name and password that you can use to log on with. We recommend you immediately log onto your account page and change your temporary password to something easier for you to remember. At the same time you should also fill out a basic biography about yourself.

Your biography can include the following information:

One you have obtained a password, you are free to make contributions to the Image Collection website. Refer back to the contributor's page for further instructions.

What if I forget my password or user name?

We cannot look up your password for you. Currently, you will need to send an email to the Collections Manager, who will reset your password and/or user name, and email the new password and user name back to you. Upon receiving a new password or user name, we recommend that you immediately log in to your account page and change it back to something easier to remember. Eventually, we may provide a way in which you can reset your password online.
