Conservation Status: Abundant; of no concern.

Distribution: On both sides of the Cascades crest in Washington; east to Montana and Wyoming, south to Oregon.
Habitat: Wet to somewhat dry soil, from montane to subalpine and alpine areas.
Species Description:

General: Branched, glabrous perennial from a taproot, 5-12 dm. tall.
Leaves: Leaves 2-3 pinnate, the ultimate leaflets up to 5 cm. long and 4 cm. wide, varying from toothed to dissected; basal leaves large and long-petiolate, cauline leaves few and reduced, but at least one well developed.
Flowers: Inflorescence of compound umbels, rays 15-40, 2.5-5 cm. long; involucre and involucels wanting; calyx teeth obscure; petals five, white.
Fruits: Fruit oblong or elliptic, 4-6 mm. long, glabrous, the ribs narrowly winged.
