Distribution: Occurring chiefly west of the Cascades crest in Washington; British Columbia to California.

Habitat: Moist soil at low elevations, but not typically coastal.

Leaves narrowly linear, opposite, remote, 3-10 mm. long; basal leaves few, withered by flowering time.

Flowers several per stem, the pedicels filiform, 10-20 mm. long; sepals 5, distinct, about 2 mm. long, rounded; petals 5, white, equal to the sepals; stamens and styles 5.

Capsule about 1.5 times as long as the sepals, opening by 5 valves.
