WTU's Ben Legler and MORA's Pete Del Zotto led collecting trips in early August to the Tatoosh Range and Steven's Ridge on the south side of Mount Rainier over a period of two days. The first day was spent in the vicinity of Pinnacle Saddle and Plummer Peak in the Tatoosh Range, an area of subalpine habitat that has been poorly collected in the past. The focus of the second day were the glacial basins and alpine slopes around upper Steven's Ridge east of Paradise where no trails go.
144 collections were made totaling 338 specimens. These were soon identified at the WTU Herbarium by Ben Legler with volunteer assistance.
Volunteers from WTU for the 2005 MORA trip included Deanna Goldy, Don Knoke, and Sharon Rodman. Besides Pete Del Zotto, participating NOCA staff included Arnie Peterson.
