Notes: FNA24: "Hesperostipa comata subsp. intermedia is found in pinyon-juniper woodlands, at elevations of 2175–3075 m, in the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains, from southern Canada to New Mexico. It resembles H. curtiseta, but differs in its evenly pubescent lemmas and its often lacerate ligules."
