Background: I have a B.S. in civil engineering and an M.P.A. in public administration, and over the past 25 years have served various roles in local, state, and federal government, and in the non-profit sector. I developed an interest in plants while working as a hydrologist for the BLM in the Umpqua River basin in Southwest Oregon. In my third year at the BLM, I proposed and lead an investigation into how riparian plant community composition has been influenced by past forest management practices. I continue to pursue my interest in plant community ecology and ecological research, and in my spare time enjoy photographing plant species that I find in the wild. I currently work as a project engineer for the Wild Fish Conservancy in Duvall, Washington.
