Distribution: East of Cascades crest in Washington; Eastern Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico; Southern British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan.

Habitat: Open, dry prairie.

Substrate: On calcareous soil and pebbles.

Conservation Status: Not of concern


Thallus fruticose, olive green to blue-green, forming clumps up to 3 cm. in width. Branches 0.5-1 mm in diameter, irregular and terete.
