Distribution: Occurring chiefly east of the Cascades crest in Washington; British Columbia to California, east to Alberta, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado.

Habitat: Forest openings and edge, meadows, often where dry, from low to middle elevations.

Flowers: June-August
