Distribution: Occurring west of the Cascades crest along coastal waters in Washington; British Columbia to southern California.

Succulent, lax, rhizomatous perennial, up to about 3 dm. tall
Leaves linear-oblanceolate or linear-oblong, opposite, 2-6 cm. long and 2-6 mm. wide, fleshy.
Heads solitary, the disk 7-12 mm. wide; involucre 8-12 mm. high, of few, broad bracts, imbricate, the bracts often becoming pinkish upwards; rays narrow and inconspicuous, 3-5 mm. long, yellow, deciduous; receptacle conic, naked; pappus none.
Achene with a gristly apical ring to which the broad, hardened base of the disk corolla is attached.
