Distribution: Occurring chiefly east of the Cascades crest in Washington; southern British Columbia to Oregon, east to the Rocky Mountains, northern Great Plains, and Great Lakes region.

Habitat: Open, wet or dry places from low to middle elevations; tolerant of alkali.

Flowers: July-September
